Super Bugs

I can't believe how long it has been since I have blogged here. Seriously. 5 months! Thankfully I have shown greater commitment to my family who have been fed every night, to my house which occasionally sees a vacuum cleaner and to my business which now has a new range of awesome capes and masks.

Christmas is little more than 3 months away and I have already started taking orders (clearly there are people out there far more organised than me in terms of gifts) which is super-exciting! So if you know someone who would love a Super Cape and Mask set under the tree this year, drop me an email at bigbuglittlebug@gmail.com

Ridiculously in Love

Okay, so I usually blog about the little bugs, but tonight I am thinking about the older bugs in the house. Tomorrow will be our 5th anniversary of wedded bliss. Yup, 5 years and still blissful.

Warning: Cliches ahead! I have to admit I am one of those soppy wives who worships the ground her dear hubby walks on. And if you ask me, I am an amazing wife, there is nothing I wouldn't do for him.

He is the light of my life and I simply can't imagine how I got so darn lucky. And he makes me laugh every day. Like when I think about next week when he is going to be a camel jockey (yes, you read that right) at the Easter Races. Even though last year a camel ran over the top of him, he has been in training for the last 2 months to get down to 'jockey weight'. Seriously. You just have to laugh! So Happy Anniversary, Crew. Love you. Always. x

Happy Birthday Little Lady Bug

Well, my little lady bug turns 2 tomorrow, and forgive the cliche but my, how time flies!

If you can't handle the mushy stuff, I am warning you to look away now, 'cos here it comes.

What gorgeousness and light this poppet has brought to us all. You know that feeling when something is truly a part of you? My head swims with all the amazing things she can do, and they way she can make me laugh even when I am awfully cranky and cross. I love the way she....

...looks for Charlie every morning for a 'wrastle' and a snuggle

...repeats every phrase or word at least twice, every time, like we might be hard of hearing

...looks for 'dolly' when she is tired

...lights up when Dad comes home

...prises my eyes open in the morning, 'Hop UP! Hop UP!'

...sucks her thumb when I touch her face/read a book/sing a song

So my baby is a baby no more. Now she is toilet training, reading our names and holding full on conversations all the time. But she'll always be my baby. Love you so much, lady bug.

Cherries in Season

I just knew this divine fabric by Cosmo Cricket had a destiny all of its own... and these gorgeous summer skirts came up beautifully (if I do say so myself).
If only I had thought to make one in my size :)

To Market, to Market

Gosh darn these kids are cute! But now to the real story, who doesn't love a good market? Well, those in Forbes will be spoilt for choice this weekend when the ABA Baby Market is on Sunday 17th at the Youth Centre from 9am-1pm. And I will be making my first appearance with a delightful collection of wares from Big Bug and Little Bug.

If it's a hat you're after, there'll be plenty of those! From itty bitty baby sizes up to 3/4 years of age. And my favourite thing to do is fill a custom order. If you see something you like, but it's not in your size, let me know and I'll do what I can for you.

I'll also have skirts and dresses, tops and bibs. Oh, the bibs! They are divine, and a mountain of gorgeous boy prints, too.

So swing by and check it out on Sunday, there are great raffle prizes and homemade cakes and slices for morning tea. See you there!

Yeehaw!

Ah heck! Ain't he just the sweetest cowkid you ever did see? Last night we fulfilled his greatest wishes and trekked over to the PBR Bullrides in Condo. There were thrills and spills, chutes and utes, fireworks and fancy pants cowboys as far as the eye could see.

Charlie cheered and hoorah-ed with the best of them, at one point handing his beloved 'bull' and icecream to Dad, "Hold these, Dad, so I can clap" (what a wag, seriously...) Thankyou Big Bug for sharing icecream with your sister, and thankyou Little Bug for treating your brother like he is God's greatest gift to this earth. Bless. xxx

Hoot - a custom order

A friend asked me yesterday to drop by a little hat for a 9 week old baby boy. Sure, no problem, I have something right he... Oh, maybe not that little. So last night I whipped up this gorgeous Hoot Hat, which kinda makes me wish for a little teeny tiny boy of my own again... but only for a second :)
